While the new iPad boasts a stunning new screen perfect for watching videos and playing games, consumers are quickly starting to realize that the device gobbles data from cellular networks at a monstrous rate, reports the Washington Post.
One consumer reports that after getting the new iPad last Friday and live-streaming March Madness games all day Saturday, he had used up his allotted monthly data plan by Saturday night.
This ordeal is putting consumers in a real bind: they either pay more for their data plan or hold back on using the device’s best, newest features, which some would say is the only reason they bought the new iPad.
While there is no real resolve, consumers can choose to connect via WiFi instead of through their 4G wireless network.
