Charles Wood, BBB Investigator

As an investigator for BBB, Charles reviews local businesses who have been accused of bad customer service, poor ethics or downright illegal behavior. When he finds examples of bad business practices that harm consumers, he reports them to the public. Sometimes those reports are simply added to a company’s BBB Business Review so consumers can make informed decisions. In more serious cases, he will write a press release for the BBB website, alert the local news media or write a post for this blog. He is passionate both about writing and giving people the information they need to make smart choices for themselves and their families — two passions that blend perfectly in his work at BBB.

Mary Zambrano, Public Relations Specialist

As the Public Relations Specialist Mary is always on the lookout for what is happening to local consumers and how BBB can help by telling the media and alerting the public.  She is passionate about helping consumers to spend money wisely with businesses they can trust. Mary’s blog posts will focus on relevant tips for consumers, descriptions of what consumers need to know about BBB, and links to her favorite consumer advice articles each week as she keeps a tab on important topics every day. Click here to be directed to BBB’s News Center, updated weekly with the topics that are being sent to the local media.

Of note, information and updates provided in this blog are on behalf of the Communications Department for BBB serving Central, Coastal, Southwest Texas and the Permian Basin.

Stephanie Jacksis, Media Specialist

Stephanie’s role as our Media Specialist is to help spread consumer protection news.  She captures exciting video and audio aspects of BBB’s blog that resonates with the community, and focuses on stories that are making headlines in Texas.  Stephanie also updates information on BBB’s social media pages and responds to questions and comments.

I’ve been trying for several days to check out a charity (World Vision) on the main BBB site but it hangs up every time. Is there some kind of problem with the site? Thank you.

  3. You are welcome! Hopefully, you found what you were looking for!

The BBB is useless they consider a resolution siding with the company not the consumer! Why should that be considered a resolution of any type when consumers are being misled.
